STORY
STORY
Same, same, different. Like sona, kiran comes from the nomadic Banjara women of Rajasthan, carrying needlecraft passed down through generations - centuries old, not decades. mirrors sewn in to catch the light and ward off evil spirits. cowrie shells along the edges for prosperity. Clothes like this were traditionally worked into a dowry bag, made by a woman for her own future. No two are ever the same - the Banjara believe perfection invites pride, so a little imperfection is always left in, deliberately. Then there's the age on top of that - a mirror set slightly askew, a thread gone soft with handling. We wouldn't smooth any of it out.
STYLING
STYLING
Worn cross body, sitting higher and neater than sona's slouch. pairs with almost nothing else - let her carry the outfit on her own.
CARE
CARE
Spot clean only, very gently. keep dry and out of direct sun - the mirrors and thread will only get more character with age, not less. store flat or hanging, never folded on the embroidery.
