NANATUDE

A handbag-sized book of memories on beauty, connection and adventure.

I wrote a little book for you.

Long before the jewels, before the trips to India, before the site, there was just this idea I couldn't shake: that there's a whole world women are ready to step into once they stop performing and start living exactly as they please. NANATUDE is where that world began, in stories.

A biscuit tin of beads at my Nana's house, and the feeling of being completely certain, as a child, that I belonged there. A frightening night in Delhi where nothing was certain at all, and how the not-knowing turned, unexpectedly, into one of my craziest stories. A storm on an island with my Mum, my brother and my sister, and the surprising freedom in choosing how to remember a night that could have gone either way.

Some of these stories are about my Nana. Most are about me, and about something I've started calling my own 'Nana era', a quieter, freer way of being I think a lot of women grow into eventually, sometimes earlier, sometimes later.

I didn't write this to teach anyone anything. I wrote it because these stories mattered to me, and maybe you'll enjoy reading them. If something in here gives you back a memory of your own, or the urge to finally speak it, then this small stack of pages will have done more than I ever expected.
